After a pair of false starts in the past few days, days spent slogging rather than skiing, we finally started to skiing in earnest! Today we went with Jennifer, Lance and Charis to an area on Thompson Pass called Vertigo. The snow was great, the weather just fine, the light a little flat. The amazing part was the evaluation pit that we dug, the entire 7 feet of the snow pack was one solid cohesive layer, sitting on a few inches of depth hoar. I have never seen such solid snow pack! It was amazing.
