s/v Bluewater | |
Bluewater is a Hutton 36. Built by John Hutton in Hawaii. She is the sister of Bernard Montissier's Tamata. Where Tamata had a bowsprit, Bluewater has had her lines carried forward to give her more waterline and more internal volume. Which of course translates into more deck space and more carrying capacity. Bluewater is cutter rigged, and flush decked forward of the mast. She has a LOA (Length Over All) of 36 feet and a beam of 12.5 feet. She drafts just over 6 feet. Constructed out of 3/16 steel. She carries 100 gallons of diesel fuel and 100 gallons of fresh water in tanks built into her keel. Bluewater's pedigree precedes her. The former owner was
a close friend of Bernard Montessier and their ideas of simplicity, durability
and ease of use are evident through out the boat. It was clear from the
first inspection that she was built to cross oceans. |
